The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a powerhouse of mobile technology and is packed with amazing tricks and features. Some of these will be familiar to every Android user, while others are exclusive to the TouchWiz UI. Here are some tips to enrich your experience of using the Galaxy Note 3.
One-handed operation
It’s no mean feat to use a 5.7-inch screen with one hand. Samsung knows this and offers a one-handed operation mode. Just go Settings > Controls and enter the one-handed operation menu to change some elements of the phablet’s UI so that you can reach them easily.
Use the screen while wearing gloves
The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a capacitive touchscreen, which doesn’t rely on pressure to register taps. Unfortunately, this means that you can’t use the screen while wearing gloves. Luckily, Samsung has found a way around it. All you have to do to is increase the display’s sensitivity by going to Settings > Controls and checking the ‘Increase touch sensitivity’ box.
Mute your phone by waving your hand in front of it
Nothing’s more embarrassing than your phone ringing in a quiet environment and your fumbled attempts to mute it. Luckily, the Galaxy Note 3 gives you the option of silencing your phone just by hovering your hand on top of it. Go to Settings > Control > Palm motion to enable this option.
Go completely hands-free
Using your phone while driving is both dangerous and illegal. Instead, use the hands-free option included in your Galaxy Note 3 to easily use your phone while driving. The hands-free options include having your caller information and text read aloud and accepting a call by waving your hand over the display. You can enable this option by going to Settings > Controls > Hands-free
Control your television with your phone
Most Samsung devices have IR blasters, which serve to make your phone a substitute for your TV remote. Just open Samsung’s WatchON app and enter your region details along with your TV type to make your phone into a TV remote.

Thinner and lighter, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has a Super AMOLED screen Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 5.7 inches. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.3 GHz 800 comes with 3 GB of memory (RAM ), all running OS Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The Galaxy Note 3 shows the now well-known Galaxy S4 lines with rounded corners a little less than the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 , but with an overall look close enough. The novelty comes first from the rear which is not covered with the usual plastic , but a new coating called "Note Skin" by the manufacturer. The material effects of the Galaxy Note 3 , with its stitched seam finish gives it an elegant and refined design .
Media side , it is a 13 megapixel sensor capable of shooting 4K , an internal memory of 32GB, 4G connectivity 150 Mbps ( cat.4 ), WiFi n, WiFi Direct , Bluetooth 4.0, A- GPS , USB 2.0 Host Finally ... thanks to its 3,200 mAh battery, users can enjoy multimedia content without worrying too much about autonomy.
A new S Pen Experience
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is used with a finger or with a stylus with the S Pen technology which can be used to make sketches or drawings , or instantly jot down ideas before they s' soar. The Galaxy Note 3 enables even more features with the S Pen. Thus , passing the S Pen over the screen appears a new range of features and controls can be activated at any time . Air Command provides direct access to five major features :
• Action Memo allows you to directly convert handwritten notes into a specific action such as creating a contact by selecting directly on the screen and save it in the directory, find an address on a map or appeal .
• With the new Scrapbook feature, the user can select and collect with the S Pen multiple content types that interest from multiple sources such as the web or YouTube, and organize them into an album .
• Capture allows you to capture screen and enrich handwritten notes . The annotated image can then be shared.
• S Finder allows full search ALL the contents of the smartphone ( handwritten notes , calendar, mail ... ) using keywords and filters.
• Window Pen allows you to use multiple applications simultaneously while accessing other features of Galaxy Note 3 . Just simply draw a window of the desired size , anywhere on the screen to bring up the application desired format popup . You can then resize and move .
The new version of S Note egalemet gives the possibility to synchronize the application with an Evernote account with a Samsung account.

And there we have it. Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone, which hasn’t even been out a month, is now officially the tech giant’s fastest selling phone ever, with the company announcing late Wednesday that sales had crossed the 10 million mark.
“Launched globally on April 27, the phone is estimated to be selling at a rate of four units per second,” Samsung said in a statement announcing the news.
The Android-powered Galaxy S4, with its 5-inch 441-PPI display, 13-megapixel camera and slew of snazzy features, is evidently proving a big hit with consumers in the 110 countries where its currently sold. Ten million sales in less than a month makes sales of the previous iterations of the handset appear positively sluggish, though they were, of course, considered impressive at the time.
The Galaxy S3 crossed the 10-million mark 50 days after its launch in May last year, while the S2 took five months to reach the same milestone. As for the Galaxy S, the first handset in the range, that took all of seven months to sell 10 million units after launching in 2010.
“On behalf of Samsung, I would like to thank the millions of customers around the world who have chosen the Samsung Galaxy S4,” Samsung co-CEO JK Shin said in the statement. “At Samsung we’ll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for people.”
The Galaxy’s S4’s impressive sales figures also indicate a narrowing of the gap previously comfortably enjoyed by Apple with its iPhone – for the first three months of this year, Apple sold an average of 12.5 million handsets per month. Could we see the S4 outselling the iPhone before the end of 2013, or will sales tail off once the initial enthusiasm for the handset fades?
Late last year it was reported that Samsung is aiming to sell more than 500 million smartphones and feature phones in 2013, improving on sales in 2012 by around 20 percent. Based on Wednesday’s news, phones in the company’s Galaxy S range are likely to make up a sizable proportion of those sales.

Network connectivity for the part , the S3 supports 3G + ( HSDPA 21 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps) , WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0 ( A2DP ) , GPS (A- GPS) and even has DLNA and an NFC chip for future use contactless services . If the single connector microUSB type, it can also act as audio- video output ( MHL ) . Photo / video side , Samsung has opted for an 8 megapixel sensor ( 3264 x 2448 pixels) , capable of recording Full HD footage (1920 x 1080 pixels). Last icing on the cake , it comes standard with an FM tuner that is sorely lacking in the iPhone.
One last word to conclude on autonomy and the design of smartphone. No great surprise side battery (removable here) , intensive use ( 3G/WiFi ), the terminal will not hold a full day but it is the lot of all smartphones of the moment. Side look, Samsung has kept its copy precisely to avoid a new trial from Apple . With its rounded hull white or blue polycarbonate , its screen XXL and wasp waist , the S3 is very different from the iPhone 4. Impossible to confuse . If Galaxy is now a very good alternative to the iPhone 4S , he will find his way in the autumn version 5 of the Apple device. Rest with its intrinsic technical qualities and the arrival of Android 4.1 , it will smoothly rope for future battle ahead .

Samsung launches this week its new high-end smartphone, the Galaxy S4. With this model, it must consolidate its new position as world leader in mobile phones.
Galaxy
S4, new high-end smartphone from Samsung, released this week in the
world to counter the iPhone 5 in advance and strengthen the South Korean
on Apple. Presented
in March at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the Galaxy S4 opens
Friday in South Korea and the rest of the world over the weekend.41 million Galaxy S3 sold in one yearNo
more than the iPhone 5, the S4 offers technological revolution, but
improvements that can be decisive in the fierce competition between
smartphones and tablets using him as Android, the mobile operating
system from Google. S4
- S3 whose predecessor has sold over 41 million copies since its launch
a year ago - is especially with a large high-definition screen (5
inches, 12.7 centimeters) a battery and a camera performance. It
can recognize eye movements to scroll or turn pages automatically as
and when reading, or stop video when the user looks away."Samsung
entered into uncharted territory. Sales S4 tell us if he is able to
defend its new status as" the world leader in mobile phones and
smartphones, notes James Song, an analyst at KDB Daewoo Securities. For
now, everything seems to smile on South Korean company is expected to
announce Friday that a whopping 53% of its operating profit in the first
quarter compared to the same period in 2012, to 8.7 trillion won (5.98
billion euros).Objective 70 to 80 million for the S4?Samsung
has passed 65 million smartphones in the first three months of fiscal
2013, for a market share of 30%, according to research firm DRAMeXchange
Taiwanese. In contrast, Apple announced Tuesday the first decline in net profit in nearly a decade. According to DRAMeXchange, the iPhone has sold 37.5 million units for a global market share of 15.3%. Samsung
had stolen the top spot to Apple in 2011 and its lead last year and
accounted for about 30% market share against 19% for the group at the
apple. S3
was even temporarily replaced during the summer iPhone 4S as the
world's best-selling smartphone, and Samsung was openly mocked his rival
in commercials where he had people queuing up to buy the iPhone 5, but squinting with envy on the Galaxy S3.For his successor the Galaxy S4, the bar has been set very high. CIMB Bank expects at least 70 million passed this year. Morgan
Stanley also mentions an "ambitious goal" set by Samsung to its
suppliers, who will be able to deliver 10 million copies per month,
against 8,000,000 at the time of peak production for the S3. According
to Morgan Stanley, the device would be proposed by a number of "record"
of 400 operators in 210 countries for use on the third or fourth
generation (3G or 4G LTE).Samsung,
whose range is very wide, from S4 to cheaper models for emerging
markets, however, remains far from Apple in terms of profitability with a
two times higher for the U.S. operating margin. "Samsung
still has a long way to go before settling permanently as a leader and
not a follower. Has never had the genius of innovation as Steve Jobs,"
said James Song. "But
Jobs is no longer Apple and the company is struggling. It could help
Samsung to gain time to install as a leader in every sense of the term."
Song believes that the S4 can reach the 80 million units taking advantage of recent problems in Apple's supply chain.Learn more about

When you think of the thinnest and lightest laptops in the world, a few names immediately spring to mind. For most people, the Apple MacBook Air would be the first, and for those in the know, the first Samsung Series 9 900X3A would be second.
Samsung has now released an update, concisely named the Samsung Series 9 900X3B, but the similarities between the two Series 9 codes doesn't really matter. The new 13.3-inch Series 9 will not only supersede its older brother as the flagship Samsung model, it also takes the crown of the world's thinnest laptop.
Wow factor and desirability are key to what Ultrabooks stand for, and this is also the ethos that has driven the Samsung Series 9's design. When closed, the laptop is just 14mm thick, and sits like a folded piece of paper on the desk.
- Best Ultrabook: 15 top thin and lights for 2012
At first the Samsung Series 9 900X3B intrigues onlookers, but the real appreciation is saved for when it's picked up. The Series 9 weighs just 1.2kg, making it lighter than the MacBook Air, and thinner too.
It's impossibly strong, and there's zero flex in any part of the lid and keyboard, something that the Toshiba Portégé R830 suffers from.
Any Windows laptop released at the moment will be immediately categorized as an Ultrabook, but Samsung has opted not to allow Intel to brand the Series 9 900X3B with its new category.
The Samsung Series 5 is the company's official Ultrabook, and while it's a solid performer, uninspiring looks and bland design only make the Series 9 more appealing.
Samsung wouldn't be cowed on why it rejected the Ultrabook moniker for its flagship product, but the company takes pride in its Series 9, which extends across TVs and other consumer electronics. With Samsung trying to carve out a brand identity, it wouldn't want the Series 9 to be diluted with third-party labels.
Naming conventions aside, the Samsung Series 9 900X3B shares all of the same technology with the Ultrabook crowd, which is growing on a weekly basis. There's a low voltage 1.6GHz Sandy Bridge processor with Turbo Boost, fast resume from sleep, long battery life and decent graphical power.
Read on for a deep dive into what the Samsung Series 9 has to offer.

Samsung Electronics on Friday reported unaudited earnings results for the first calendar quarter of 2012. Following a record holiday quarter that saw the company pull in a profit of 5.3 trillion Korean won on sales of 47 trillion won, Samsung expects to report an operating profit of 5.8 trillion won — nearly twice its profit the first quarter last year — and revenue of approximately 45 trillion won. Samsung’s Galaxy S II smartphones are still among carriers’ best-selling smartphones in the United States, and the South Korea-based consumer electronics giant recently announced that sales of its massive Galaxy Note “phablet” topped 5 million units.

An official of Samsung stirs the rumor of the arrival of a small iPad in a Korean newspaper. Testimony on condition of anonymity that evokes a tablet of 7.85 inches in development at Apple.

Samsung and Apple might be in conflict in the courts, they are nevertheless partners in business, the first feeding in the second component of various kinds. This is also the theme of the article in Korea Times, which blows hard on the embers of the rumor of an iPad Mini.
The article leaves the floor to an anonymous Samsung, which explains that the contract between the South Korean company with Apple "is expected to reach $ 11 billion by the end of the year" and adds "Apple plans to release a smaller iPad, probably with a screen of 7.85 inches. "
In short, Samsung is well informed on projects since the manufacturer of Apple is one of its suppliers of displays, among other things. Although this is still a rumor be taken lightly, it is still particularly insistent. The article also highlights how the relationship between the two companies is ambiguous: we also learn that the contract between Apple and Samsung over until the end of 2014, and until then, the two companies are linked professionally. A leak info if not innocuous in the relationship "I love you, me neither" the two firms?
