After a disappointing launch of its new architecture, Fermi, NVIDIA came back in early July with a chip rather interesting, the GF 104, which was at the heart of a card with many advantages: the GeForce GTX 460. Eager to ride on that success and regain market share from AMD, the chameleon is now trying to drive the point home with two new products: the GeForce GTS 450 and 260 series drivers.

GeForce GTS 450La first uses a new chip: the GF106. Always based on Fermi, it takes the balance that was the strength of the GF104, but with fewer units. Thought to fight the Radeon HD 5700 on their land, it was indeed designed for a single goal: to offer a card to the players, while being offered at less than € 150.

The second is more evolution than revolution. Indeed, NVIDIA sees the installation of the graphics drivers, as well as key elements: performance, ease of use ... but keep the main thing. For a comprehensive update of the interface, it will have to wait.

But is that all this will enable NVIDIA to keep players returning to the heart, bruised by months of dirt and marketing innovations that did the name? The Radeon HD 5700, AMD will they falter, while the arrival of the HD 6000 is looming ...? The answer in this case.
