Very few users have the original disc: I do not speak here of illegally obtained versions (burned) but often at the sale, the manufacturers do not provide the actual system installation DVD, the colors of Microsoft, with OEM versions. Instead, they offer a repair disk that will put Windows to its original state as it was during the acquisition of the computer: you lose all your documents.

Windows 7 provides an alternative by creating its own repair disk that you just need to keep in a corner if Windows refuses to start. The CD created will analyze the different disks and detect Windows installed. It will then attempt a repair. In general, this should suffice and you can restart the machine.
The creation of the disc

In the "Control Panel", go to "System and Security", "Backup and Restore" then "Create a repair disk" in the left pane.

Make sure you have put a blank CD or DVD, the software to create the repair disk starts. Once the burn is complete, keep the drive carefully and hope that you never have to use it.
If disk usage

Once the computer boots from the CD or DVD, you are taken over by the Repair Wizard of Windows 7. The application of system recovery is divided into five modules:

- "Startup Repair"

- "System Restore"

- "Image Recovery System"

- "Windows Memory Diagnostic"

- "Command Prompt"

By selecting "Repair Startup", the disc will attempt to repair the problems the system boots.

The module "System Restore" can be also very useful as it will rely on the system restore points Windows creates when you install some software or drivers to be safe, they can make the system unable to start ...

For other modules, this is more complex problems where one must have computer knowledge and Windows further. Moreover, in case of failure, the software is often accused of being the cause when he does not forget the hardware failure.
